The exterior consists of stuccoed brick masonry with a wide band of trim below the cornice line and a course of brick dentil detail. The slab porch with wooden columns and stone linteled windows are consistent with other George Ash designs (“Georgia Historical Society”). It received two separate Historic Landmark designations in 1973 and 2002 (“Chatham County Board of Assessors”). The architect, George H. Ash, was an accomplished builder characterized by houses of sound construction and fine brickwork. He died in 1885 and was buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery (Henderson). This rental comes with a courtyard and an outdoor kitchen. The kitchen for the home is very small, but there is a full-size fridge and four burner stove with a small oven. No dishwasher however, there is a garbage disposal and 2nd sink in the extension off the kitchen, which also has additional cabinet storage and counter space. You may paint the walls with approved colors if you like. You are within walking distance of restaurants and shops galore including Liberty Street, Broughton, Bay, and River Street.
