"Could be better..."
This place has it's good and bad just like most apartments.
However there are a lot of bad points here, and not all are the fault of the management company.
If you are looking for a place to relax and be able to get a good nights sleep, this is not it...tenants on their decks being loud, rude at all hours, people in the parking lots with their stereo's blasting at all hours, drunks in the halls, lots of neighbors fighting at all hours/yelling, banging on doors, Police on property a lot, kids running/playing in the halls, laundry rooms not near as clean as they could or should be, parking lots/yards littered with trash, trash area is always a mess and very nasty, pot smell in the halls, there was a shooting early 2017, one of the caretakers had her life threated when she was closing the pool on night by some drunks who wouldn't leave so she could close the pool, there was a drunk passed out in the hall one morning some of the apartments have decks that connect so it's not safe or secure because anyone can just step over the rail.
It was a crap shoot if there would be hot water, or for that matter hot water at all, they would shut off the water with no notice, and even when there was water it would go from HOT to COLD while you were taking a shower.
Winter was not good around here, most all the caretakers worked full-time jobs so they would shovel/sand-salt at 4 or 5am and then not again until the got home from work late afternoon, no one kept up on it throughout the day or even through the night.
Security doors would be broken, meaning the locks would not work so they were open to anyone OR just as bad, the would not open so you could not get in or out, at one time there was a broken window in the entry of our building for almost a month it was just covered with cardboard.
For the most part the Office staff was friendly.
Some of the maintenance staff were great they fixed things and cleaned up after themselves, but not all were so good.
Our apartment was not cleaned when we moved in...thank goodness we noted it all when we moved in so at move out we had proof.
They are making an attempt at making things look better but there is an old saying, "you can put a silk skirt on a pig and its still a pig..."
We paid our rent on time, never had Police call, never had company, never disturbed neighbors, we were clean, but come time to renew our lease for year 4 we were told that they felt we were not happy living there so they were not going to offer us a new lease...WOW!, be good tenants and you get shafted.
They told us that I made Misty in the Office and John the maintenance man feel like they were working in a hostile work environment, OMG, #1 I had little contact with Misty and I praised her more times than I can count, yes there were things I think should have been done different but that is not a reason to not let some sign a new lease, and YES I had issues with John, he was rude and very disrespectful when taking to me, he did not act professional when in our home or when interacting with Misty, he spoke rude to her, he would raise his voice to her and she just laughed it off saying "oh Johnny and I have a special relationship, that is just how he is..."
Never knew that not liking someone would be a reason we were not given a new lease.
We had planned on staying at least one more year, in part because we could see that they were trying to make things better, and in part because our apartment it self was good, and the things that were wrong were things we had learned to adopt to.
We had wanted to go from here to homeowners but my husband had to have emergency surgery and that ate what savings we had.
Well, thanks to StevenScott/Parkrige Way we were forced into a move, and other than it coming at a really bad time and from no fault of ours it has been the best things we could have done.
We did not realize that living here was taking a toll on our health, both mental and physical.
We were on edge when living there, we were sick a lot, I had a headache almost every day, always tired and just not relaxed or feeling we were at home...all that has changed now that we are out, we sleep very well, we have not been sick once in over a month, we feel safe, we feel like we are at home, we had family over and that was something we did not do in 4 years...
Anyone thinking of living here, please think twice...it's not what it seems on the outside.

I do have to say that Linda E was an amazing caretaker even with a full-time job with long hours and doing the caretaking of the building we lived in.
Jake is great, and there are a couple other caretakers who are great...
A lot of the issues we ones that could have been stopped if there was someone doing walkthroughs through out the day and having someone at night checking things.
Stayed 2013 to 2017, lived as a couple in a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment
