"Okay Apartment In An Okay Location"

We rented a Channing floor plan apartment for six months while looking for a home. Management was fine throughout our stay. We liked the garage parking, elevator, and in-unit washer and dryer (although they were small and stacked and the dryer did not vent to the outside). We disliked that our appliances and fixtures were all very old. The entire apartment seemed run-down considering the cost. The shared heat and A/C setup throughout Energy Park left our apartment too warm or too cold. We were also uncomfortable with the large shared deck because it was easy for our neighbors to see into the apartment, and we didn't want to leave our windows open at night since there was easy access to them. The call buttons at the front door did not buzz the apartments, but called a phone number to let you know someone was waiting. Ours never worked while we lived there (didn't call our numbers). The buildings are on a bus line on Energy Park, but it's not fast or convenient to get to the U of M campuses or downtown. Not much within walking distance. Various pet fees and extra rent are outrageous.
