RENTERS BEWARE!! Starting from the beginning, when inquiring about one of these townhomes I asked for pictures of the exact townhome we would be renting. They sent me pictures and it all looked good, so I went ahead and signed the lease papers. When I arrived at the townhome the carpets were clearly very dried out and it had looked like they were bleached. Right then and there I knew the pictures that were sent to me were NOT the townhome that was rented to me. There were rips and holes throughout the carpet and when the carpet repair gentlemen began repairing one of the large holes there was a large wet area and when he put the hot iron on the carpet to seal it, it began to smell of PEE. I took the chunk of carpet into the housing office due to the smell pee. Lisa the manager of the complex was very rude, condescending, and very unapologetic about the situation. She denied the status of the condition of the carpet the whole time I was trying to talk to her about it and what could be done. After a lengthy and incredibly rude discussion I was able to get the carpets and linoleum replaced. We had several issues while staying at the townhome from several of the windows leaking, holes in the ceiling (supposedly can’t be fixed), popcorn ceiling falling down in the bathroom, water leaks coming from the ceiling from a leaky pipe (supposedly can’t be fixed) and much more.
According to our lease contract you need to put in your vacate notice 60 days out from your contract ending. We had planned on staying at these townhomes so we wouldn’t have to deal with moving. Well, 2 weeks prior to 30 days out from our lease ending we get this note shoved in our front door stating our rent was going to increase significantly! When my husband went down to the office to discuss this bad landlord practice by not hand delivering nor giving us this note prior to when we were supposed to put in our vacate notice Lisa was AGAIN very rude, condescending, arrogant, and very unapologetic about the situation. Come to find out she is advertising the same exact townhome as ours for significantly cheaper than what we were paying, but she was going to raise our rent?! After a lengthy and nasty (on her part) discussion she agreed to allow us to put in a 30 day notice to vacate. Lisa is NOT a landlord she is a business woman (according to her) that gets away with the bare minimum and does not care to keep her current renters. She would rather have old tenants move out and have new tenants move in.
This place is also not child friendly (no playground, no backyards, and no yard at all). This place is more about the animals (dogs). The grass area they do have is full of dog poop so you can’t let your children play on it unless you want them playing in dog doodoo.
Again RENTERS BEWARE!! This place is NOT luxury! They WILL raise your rent at the end of your contract!
