"This Complex Literally Made Me Flee the County"
I signed a lease for this apartment complex while I was attending school at SDSU, but after my experience I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.
First of all, I went on a tour at the complex before signing anything. The staff was very nice and showed us a model unit. The complex is a little far from campus but right next to a trolley station, so the leasing office was offering a promotion in which people who signed a lease this week could get reimbursed for a semester trolley pass. My friends and I went ahead and signed papers the next day after speaking to our parents.
When it was time to move in, we took our proof of purchase of a trolley pass to the leasing office and we were told that they were no longer honoring this offer. After arguing for a while we finally realized that they had no intention of hearing our side of things and they just pretended that there was never a huge banner hanging in the office with the promotion we were talking about.
The office staff continued to be no help to us when different problems arose such as losing a key or smoke detectors being broken.
We also paid an additional 30 dollars a month each to have the apartment furnished and were given a broken couch and bed frames with loose planks that squeaked and wobbled.
The best part about living here was that there was a washer and drying in our private unit, which is something that you can't find at very many complexes. Other than that, I would say this experience was pretty terrible.
When extreme legal issues arose due to some new roommates that THEY matched us with, the leasing office wouldn't even hear our side of the story and threatened to evict us if we didn't walk away willingly. We all decided to just leave and then they tried to charge us the next month's rent if we didn't find subleasers. Luckily I was able to find someone to take over my lease and I left San Diego all together.
Needless to say I do not recommend this place.
