I was told that dances were hosted here for the USO. The Tantalus area is a natural treasure. Land use in the area has been allocated to reflect the natural gifts of the area. Parks, hiking trails and preservation land make up the majority of the area. The Nature Conservancy is also headquartered here. Tantalus is on the Koolau mountain range that overlooks the trendy Kakaako and downtown area; Ala Moana Shopping Center; Ala Moana beach park; and Waikiki. Within 15 minutes drive from: Downtown Honolulu, Makiki, Ala Moana, Waikiki, Diamond Head, Manoa, Kaimuki, Kahala, Moiliili, Kakaako, Punahou, Iolani, University of Hawaii, Hawaii Pacific University, Honolulu Community College, Kapiolani Community College, Chaminade. Appliances include a gas range/oven; refrigerator; and washer/dryer. Utilities: The tenants will be responsible for all utilities. Water is provided by a catchment system.
